When living conditions become unfavourable, the Rabiea albinota plant communicates its stress by changing colour. Brown is good for the resting season, green for growth.

The flowers have recently withered here, making the season probably late spring or early summer. These plants reside in the summer rainfall region, so the hot and dry conditions have turned their leaves brown and the capsule rims cream coloured, still covered by the recently dried calyces (Smith, et al, 2017; Smith, et al, 1998; iNaturalist; https://pza.sanbi.org; https://www.worldfloraonline.org).
