The inflorescence of Watsonia watsonioides consists of two vertical arrays of flowers neatly arranged opposite each other on the axis, or at a different angle between the arrays. The inflorescence is mostly unbranched, although one or two short branches may occur. Two short, brown bracts hold the base of each flower, the inner bract smaller, the bract bases green.

The flower number in the spike varies around 30. Several flowers are open simultaneously, starting from the lowermost. The greenish, pointed buds are angled up, becoming whiter as they open fully in picture.

Bloomtime is from before midsummer to early autumn in the rainy season (Manning, 2009; Onderstall, 1984; iNaturalist; https://www.worldfloraonline.org).
