The bracts below the Disa woodii ovoid buds in the upper inflorescence part in picture are erect and reddish to dark-tipped. Once the flowers open the bracts become reflexed, tips down as best they can in the bustle of parts on the dense floral spike.
The lowest bit of bract in picture is greenish. The narrow lip drooping from a central flower is limp, crooked in its middle part. A lateral sepal that has lost its upper part, probably eaten by a peckish passerby, is glossy, doing its best to perform for the cause in spite of its deficiency (Manning, 2009; Pooley, 1998; Van Wyk and Malan, 1997; iNaturalist; https://orchidspecies.com/disawoodii.htm).
