    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Thabo Maphisa

The six filaments of a Ledebouria socialis flower are exserted beyond the corolla’s recurving tepal tips. The filaments are free and cylindrical, arising from the corolla base. In picture they converge brightly blue purple, the yellow anthers at their tips.

The plant doesn’t grow its inflorescence angled like this, the photographer achieved the creative bias all by himself (Leistner, (Ed.), 2000; iNaturalist; https://pza.sanbi.org).
