Once a clump of Lithops olivacea leaf-pairs has been formed in older plants from the slow process of branching at the base, concerted blooming such as seen here may ensue. Their quartzite paradise is an unlikely one. Still a paradise, judged from the abundant celebration of this floral success.

Achievement and success take so many forms among all things living that clear descriptions of the nature of happiness and paradise remain unsatisfactory among people, in spite of so many words written. But those that have it, often find contentment.

For people it may be all in the mind, for lithops it appears to be all on the ground (Frandsen, 2017; Van Jaarsveld, et al, 2006; Smith, et al, 1998; iNaturalist; https://llifle.com; https://pza.sanbi.org).
