    Syncarpha argyropsis peduncle leaves
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Francelle van Zyl

The leaves of Syncarpha argyropsis may continue on the stalks right up to the flowerheads, or stop lower down, ending in naked peduncles as in the photo.

The brown discs where numerous florets are turning into single-seed fruits are rounded, slightly taller than the white bract tips surrounding them (Manning, 2007; Mustart, et al, 1997; iNaturalist).
