The yellow Aspalathus setacea flower in picture has brown vein lines on its banner petal. At the top and the bottom of the flower the white hairs found on the outsides of the banner and the keel are visible.
On the right in picture two fruit pods end in brown hooks. They are what remains of the styles that grew on the ovaries during the floral phase.
Many cylindrical, finely grey haired and mostly curving leaflets are long enough to keep the flower and the fruits company (Euston-Brown and Kruger, 2023; iNaturalist).
