Dyschoriste fischeri, sometimes scientifically called D. hildebrandtii var. hildebrandtii, is a small shrub, subshrub, shrublet or dwarf shrub. All these terms are used in the literature to describe small bushy plants with woody bases and or stems like this one. The erect plant reaches heights around 60 cm.
The narrowly ovate, obovate to elliptic leaves are small and greyish, slightly leathery with distinct midribs. The leaves have short petioles and entire margins.
This species distribution is in the northeast of South Africa, in Mpumalanga and Limpopo, also in Zimbabwe.
The habitat is bushveld and open woodland on hot rocky slopes. The habitat population is deemed of least concern early in the twenty first century (Letty, 1962; https://www.worldfloraonline.org; http://redlist.sanbi.org).
