Indigofera denudata new growth is visible in picture, both in greener stem-tip leaves and in clusters of small, globular buds.

The terminal leaflet in the trifoliolate form leaf is often bigger. Some inflorescences appear more raceme-like than clustered, when the buds are spaced on the stem or axis. Vestiges of lateral veins can be discerned on some leaflet blades. Older stems soon turn brown from green, and then grey (Euston-Brown and Kruger, 2023; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist; https://pza.sanbi.org).
