When they get the chance, Blechnum capense fronds will multiply as here.

“The chance” is a required standard existing for all living things, consisting of the appropriate conditions conducive to thriving, or at least for living. For every species this list differs in some items. A few major items are common, dominating for all at the basic level, like comfortable temperature, air to breathe, food, and not to be eaten. For all, the list is also longer and becomes varied, containing things such as trace element chemicals to be available in small doses for wellbeing of the species, poisons to be absent, and all sorts of other physical things that should be present or absent in the immediate environment.

It is a wonder that so many entities live, considering how much they need… or crave in the case of humans. This fern, a shade dweller, also needs some sun to photosynthesise. Check the brown new frond unfurling in the centre. Life is miracle.
