Watsonia borbonica subsp. borbonica angled on a slope

Watsonia borbonica subsp. borbonica inflorescences are usually erect, straight and proud in nature and garden. Born on a slope, the plant copes with its different challenge. Nobody complains about the angled spike, or even the bent-up one, as long as the flaring flower tubes do their thing. Even the spiral twist in the spike can be picked up in the series of pink blooms reduced by time.

The leaves applaud in silent acknowledgement (Manning, 2009; iNaturalist).
