Erica articularis slender bush

As an Erica articularis shrub grows taller, the dominant pink band of flowers is markedly narrower than the leafy green band of upper stems, and much less than the least admired but widest band of bare, erect branching stems lower down.

As wind plays with the bush on many fynbos days, the flowers face in many directions in quick succession for short periods, changing continually.
