Gladiolus carmineus of another colour

One of several colour variants of Gladiolus carmineus, the paler carmine-pink one here has broad, deep-coloured frames around the white streaks on the lower tepals. Or at least on the two lateral lower tepals, the central one partly obscured by its neighbours.

The white style branches are only slightly taller than the stamens in picture, and not as wide as the cream, bilobed anthers but wider than thread-like.

Paired open flowers are not so often seen on a stem as single ones (Manning, 2009; Bean and Johns, 2005; Goldblatt and Manning, 1998; iNaturalist).
