Protea parvula was first found near Kaapsche Hoop in Mpumalanga in 1928 by Dr E.P. Phillips. It is also found in the Drakensberg at high altitude.
The flowerheads are mostly seen widely opened, but in bud it holds this globose appearance for a short while. The plant flowers white or pink.
The leaves vary from linear to elliptic or oblanceolate shapes, their tips acutely pointed or rounded tips (Pooley, 1998; Rourke, 1980; iNaturalist).
