The flowers of Monopsis unidentata subsp. unidentata grow on long, slender pedicels at branch tips. Calyces consist of five narrow, green sepals each.

The flowers are two-lipped and bluish purple, dark in the centre. The lower lips are two-lobed, split to the base, the upper lips have three pointed lobes. The lobes may be shallowly channelled or folded down the centre. The petal lobes are as pointed and shiny as seen here. Flower diameter is about 1 cm.

The stamens are joined in a ring. Stigmas have two lobes.

Bloomtime is from before midspring until after midsummer, sometimes longer (Euston-Brown and Kruger, 2023; Manning, 2009; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist; https://pza.sanbi.org).
