Oxalis obtusa may have yellow flowers as in this photo taken in Namaqualand in September. Flowers spread from 1,5 cm to 2 cm in diameter. The corollas have dark veins running down into the funnel in the flower centre.
Flowering begins with the onset of winter and last until mid-spring.
The distribution of this plant covers most of the Western Cape, the Northern Cape coastal region and the western parts of the Eastern Cape. The habitat is damp clayey slopes. The species is not considered to be threatened in its habitat early in the twenty first century (Manning, 2009; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; http://redlist.sanbi.org).
