Huernia longituba subsp. longituba is a branched stem succulent. It is unsure whether subspecies of this plant are to be recognised or not. The stems are erect, up to 5 cm tall and about 1,5 cm in diameter not counting the marginal teeth. The stems are pale green in colour, sometimes with purplish markings, also seen on the specimen in picture. The teeth grow on flattish, angular, succulent ridges and are about evenly spaced with smooth curves dipping between them. The tips of the teeth deviate from the regular shape seen in other Huernia species. They are slightly and abruptly angled downwards near their tips.
The plant grows among rocks and under what scrub is around in gravelly, sandy soil.
It was photographed in December east of Kuruman in the Northern Cape (White and Sloane, 1937).
