Lobelia jasionoides

Lobelia jasionoides is a low-growing, sprawling or even mat-forming perennial that still may achieve heights around 50 cm. The branching, spreading stems are green and ridged.

The distribution of this plant is on upper slopes in moist places of mountains in the southwestern Cape, roughly from Vanrhynsdorp to Swellendam. It has become rare in the Cape Peninsula. The species is not considered threatened in habitat early in the twenty first century (Bean and Johns, 2005; Manning, 2007; www.plantzafrica.com).
