Eulophia cooperi leaves

The dully blue-green leaves of Eulophia cooperi are broad with entire margins, each with a pointed tip and a fold along its midrib. A pseudostem of distichous, sheathing leaves grows beside the flower stem that may be branched. These leaves sprout or are partly developed at anthesis, i.e. when the inflorescence is present.

More leaves, spaced, alternate and sheathing the stem up to the flowers, reduce in size on the spike as bracts subtending every flower (Lowrey and Wright, 1987; http://wildorchids.co.za).
