Barleria rotundifolia two-lipped flower

Four petal lobes oppose the fifth one of the pale orange-yellow flower of Barleria rotundifolia in the two lips of the corolla. The one-lobed lower lip is shorter than the upper one.

The two conspicuous stamens protrude far, their purple anthers oblong and channelled.

In this photo the somewhat rotund leaves have tapering bases running into long petioles. There are mucronate protrusions at the leaf tips. A pair of pale, curving lateral veins on the leaf surface spreads from the midrib, ascending by following the curve of the leaf margin towards its tip.
