    Nerine laticoma subsp. laticoma leaves

    Nerine laticoma subsp. laticoma leaves
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Eric Aspeling

Nerine laticoma subsp. laticoma grows five to ten fairly broad, strap-shaped leaves in a tuft or distichous, opposing each other in vertical arrays. The specific name laticoma refers to this tuft of leaves.

The leaves appear in spring. The glossy leaf surfaces are pale to bright green, the upper surface slightly concave to about flat. Leaves spread or recurve to variable degrees. Leaf dimensions are 18 cm to 30 cm long and 0,8 cm to 2 cm.

The leaves are still present when the plant flowers (Duncan, et al, 2016; www.plantbook.co.za).
