Pelargonium karooicum new leaves

The leaves on this Pelargonium karooicum stem-tip are only starting to develop at the time of flowering (photo in March). The plant may also display no, or only dry leaves when in bloom. The variable leaves show wider and narrower sections on their sometimes angular stems (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist; iSpot).
