Helichrysum hebelepis stem-tip leaves

A leafy Helichrysum hebelepis stem-tip in the growing season may be dense, lush and silvery. The stalkless leaves are lanceolate, oblong or elliptic with their tips pointed, sometimes appearing rounded from margins being rolled under.

The blades are variably wavy. The pale to dull blue-green blade surfaces are cobwebbed with soft whitish hairs above, velvety on the lower side. The pale midrib may be fairly conspicuous, the few lateral veins not so much.

The leaf margins are about entire, sometimes dark red near the tips. Leaves become 1 cm to 1,8 cm long, ascending on the stems (Le Roux, et al, 2005; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; JSTOR; iNaturalist).
