Lycium ferocissimum flower discoloured

The ageing Lycium ferocissimum flower normally fades to a cream colour. It starts off pale mauve-purple to bluish and white. The one in picture has its stamens well exserted. The angular lobes of the faintly hairy, green calyx cup do not reach as far as expected up the corolla.

The leaves grow in spaced whorls along the rough, grey-barked, woody stems (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2010; Le Roux, et al, 2005; iNaturalist).
