Pachycarpus galpinii is a branched, erect perennial. The plant contains a milky latex.
The species distribution is small, only in the central part of Mpumalanga and in Eswatini, earlier Swaziland. The photo was taken in the Malolotja National Park in Eswatini during November.
The plants grow in rocky grassland. The species is not considered to be threatened in its habitat early in the twenty first century (Leistner, (Ed.), 2000; iNaturalist; http://redlist.sanbi.org).
