Syringodea longituba flower

The six-pointed, star-shaped flower of Syringodea longituba grows solitary. It has purplish to pale blue tepals spreading or slightly angled up, barely curving in. The ovate tepal lobes in two whorls of three are blunt-tipped, sometimes marked white or orange-yellow in the eye. The flower diameter is 2 cm to 2,5 cm.

Flowering happens from before midautumn to early winter (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Leistner, (Ed.), 2000; Manning and Goldblatt, 1997; iNaturalist).
