This flourishing Helichrysum dasyanthum bush has the good fortune of a well-positioned perch, elevated among rocks in tall scrub veld of the Biedouw Valley, a place for warming the hearts of kings in spring.
The long peduncles of clustered heads form a shallow dome of prime-time yellow flowering, raised over the foliage. Such a confident presence won’t be missed by local insect subjects (Manning, 2007; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; Privett and Lutzeyer, 2010; iNaturalist).
