The yellow Pelargonium triste flower has three petals with double pink-purple line markings from base to centre, two large petals with small single markings. Thick, almost globular anthers are positioned at different heights near the flower centre. The petals undulate, some margins curved up.
Overall the corolla appears like the effort of a Kindergarten artist. But yet it is real!
The photo was taken in the Biedouw Valley during September (Curtis-Scott, et al, 2020; Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Manning, 2007; Bean and Johns, 2005; iNaturalist).
