    Leaf production may become a trying mission for an aged Lycium oxycarpum bush in the Little Karoo. The annuals around its stem are celebrating a spring incentive.

    So, the willowy branches keep curving ambitiously in all directions as in its youth. The second thrust of supporting side-branches that brings shelter for birds and small animals of the neighbourhood is no longer at its former lush standard.
