This Moraea fugax plant has managed three flowers concurrently in October. It was seen near Barrydale in Karoo veld. The flower may on some plants be bicoloured, the style branches differently coloured from the tepals. The flowers have a vanilla scent.

The stem is wiry, thickened in the pedicels where brown spathes cover the flower bases (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Manning, 2007; Le Roux, et al, 2005; Leistner, (Ed.), 2000).
