    Visitors, including beetles, are welcome in Ornithogalum strictum flowers, particularly when their actions lead to pollination and no collateral damage. This is a risk millions of flowers of all shapes, colours and sizes are subject to daily.

    The system works well, however, established and continuing over many millennia. Natural plant-animal relationships ensure seed setting in many thousands of plant species and full stomachs for so many kinds of animals (Manning, 2007; Manning and Goldblatt, 1997; iNaturalist).
