The fruit of Indigofera obcordata is an almost straight and nearly cylindrical, sometimes shallowly channelled pod, once the seeds are fully developed inside. The seeds are separated from each other by dividing walls or septa inside the pod, as is the case throughout the genus.
The initially green, short-stalked pods become dark grey, faintly covered in short, whitish hairs.
The long flowering season makes pod presence possible on the plant for much of the year. The photo was taken in May near Oudtshoorn (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; iNaturalist).
