    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Thabo Maphisa

The alternate, simple leaves of Cullumia reticulata are small, growing densely and stalkless, overlapping up the thin, straight upper stems.

The ovate leaves ascend, their spiny tips flexed down. Their translucent margins are thickened, not rolled under but embellished with two rows of opposed bristles (Manning, 2007; Bond and Goldblatt, 1984; iNaturalist).
