    Not often seen, the red-flowering form of Crassula congesta subsp. laticephala has a denser inflorescence and shorter petal lobes.

    The plant flowers while the leaves are still short and not curving down, as the young C. congesta plants are for a while and some forms remain.

    Subsp. congesta is reported to flower cream (Frandsen, 2017; Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; iNaturalist).
