A Caputia scaposa var. scaposa flowerhead of yellow ray as well as disc florets is based upon one row of narrow, oblong bracts. These bracts are green, woolly and cohering around the base of the head in a cup-shape angularly ringed low down. A flowerhead is about 1,5 cm in diameter.
In the fairly old heads in picture the rays are rolled down as if no longer required, the disc florets turning brown (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; iNaturalist).
