    Stoebe alopecuroides leaves and flowers
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Louis Jordaan

Stoebe alopecuroides has dense, small leaves, needle-like and twisted, forming erect, green cylinders below the white, stem-tip floral cylinders.

The small heads of white, discoid florets fit the fynbos name, the details requiring close inspection, well supported by the magnifying glass (Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; Manning, 2007).
