    The green fruit of Euphorbia colliculina, here still fleshy capsules, may become woody before releasing their precious, ripe seeds. They seem rather few after the lavish floral affair of earlier.

    But every capsule is a treasure chest of carrying the species fortune forward. It sets seed in the sequential growth pattern established over so many generations.

    Nature does not have to break its rules to perform miracles every day. Natural processes are miraculous enough in themselves (Frandsen, 2017; Vlok and Schutte-Vlok, 2015; iNaturalist).
