This Merciera leptoloba shrublet seen in the Salmonsdam Nature Reserve during November has a narrow white floral raceme around each erect stem, as well as dense new leaf growth above the inflorescences. The dense green foliage ascends pointily beyond the flowers that spread with overlapping petal tips above the lower leaves that persist but turn brown and seem to be veering down with age.

The far protruding stamens end in anthers that are sometimes blue (Manning, 2007; Bean and Johns, 2005; iNaturalist).
