    Some Manulea tomentosa stem-tips sport inflorescences, while leaves are crowded where no flowering is happening (yet). Hairiness predominates. The bare stem parts may also display the faint purple of some leaf-tips.

    The photo was taken during May at Sandbaai near Hermanus (Manning, 2007; Mustart, 1997; Bean and Burman, 1985; iNaturalist).
