Pelargonium suburbanum subsp. bipinnatifidum leaves

The long-petioled leaves of Pelargonium suburbanum subsp. bipinnatifidum are deeply dissected, soft textured, faintly hairy and angularly toothed. Venation is sunken on the upper surfaces. The leaves become about 70 mm long and 25 mm wide.

The subspecific name, bipinnatifidum, is formed from the Latin words or word parts bi, meaning two, pinna meaning a feather and fidi meaning to split, referring to the mostly twice divided, feather-like leaves (Marais, (Ed.), 2017; Manning, 2007; Mustart, et al, 1997; iNaturalist; https://www.fernkloof.org.za).
