    Sebaea aurea buds and flowers
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Judd Kirkel Welwitch

This flat-topped, many-flowered Sebaea aurea inflorescence comprising mainly closed, pointed buds was seen in Sir Lowry’s Pass during October. The blooms have bulging basal parts enveloped in their green calyces. Narrow bracts spread from the pedicels a short distance below the flowers (Curtis-Scott, et al, 2020; Manning, 2007; iNaturalist).
