The flowers of Colchicum natalense grow in a small, head-like cluster or solitary from the gap between the still developing leaves. They are mostly short-stalked. The white, greenish or sometimes pinkish, petal-like bracts spread pointedly, pointing outwards.

Flowering happens in winter to early spring, usually best after fire.

Various insects, including bees perform the pollination (Pooley, 1998; iNaturalist; https://www.botanicalrealm.com).
