The serenity of the landscape is paradoxical to its biological complexity. One does not have to understand plant metabolism to enjoy their appeal. Still, all those wonderful secrets await contemplation and unravelling! Well over a hundred indigenous tree species provide a multitude of rewards in beauty, fruit, shade, study opportunities and more, to all that spend time in the Magaliesberg.

The trees are best protected by making their qualities widely known so that people can appreciate them. For humans are sadly known to hurt everything and everybody when the wrong spirit takes them. They usually come to regret hurting those they love. Therefore trees, and nature in general, have their best chance of withstanding adverse human behaviour when the people have become better informed. Learnt to love them.

Outlandish ideas might help indigenous trees?
