These Asystasia gangetica subsp. micrantha or A. intrusa flowers seen in the garden part of the Fernkloof Nature Reserve during February have distinct blue markings on the lower lips of their five-lobed, white flowers. The flowers are about 15 mm in diameter. Erect buds with pointed green sepal tips are erect behind the open flowers (Leistner, (Ed.), 2000; Pooley, 1998; iNaturalist).
