This Dyschoriste thunbergiiflora erect and rounded shrub was found blooming during February in the planted garden section of the Fernkloof Nature Reserve. The pale woody stems become leafless lower down, although new branches also sprout low down, retaining the overall green appearance.

The small cymes of blue to purple flowers grow from leaf axils near the young tips of stems (Blundell, 1987; iNaturalist).
