A Lotononis sericophylla flower has the typical pea-flower shape characterising many flowers of the Fabaceae family. The five-lobed, hairy calyx has its four narrow-tipped upper lobes joined in their lower parts, the fifth narrower.
The bilobed banner petal curves back in pale blue with vein lines across it. Its lower part is pale yellow to yellow-green inside the corolla base, also vein-lined. The wings are shorter than the keel, flanking it and sometimes round-tipped. The keel is broadly rounded on its lower margin. Wings and keel are all pale yellow to whitish, sometimes partly suffused with green.
Lotononis stamens are of two types, all joined in a tube that is slit down the top (Manning, 2009; Pooley, 1998; iNaturalist).
