Many parents feel blessed when not all their children have emigrated from their country replete with social problems. If people don’t dig them up, the Kumara plicatilis family living here will flower for many years in plain sight of each other, whether they are close-knit or not. Feet firmly in the rock, they are more than capable of adding value to others in their picturesque environment, especially at bloomtime.

Go climb a mountain near Tulbagh from late winter to shortly after midspring for a flower show. Take a camera along. Send the photo to the kids living abroad.
