    Montinia caryophyllacea colours
    Author: Ivan Lätti
    Photographer: Judd Kirkel Welwitch

On this male Montinia caryophyllacea plant growing near Tulbagh the stems are olive green, the leaves blue green and the buds light yellow green. As always, the petal lobes are white and the anthers cream.

Pollinating insects with narrowly defined colour predilections have a chance of seeing at least something on the list of colours that attracts them (Euston-Brown and Kruger, 2023; Curtis-Scott, et al, 2020; iNaturalist).
