    Some rarely seen Pelargonium longicaule flowers lack the coloured markings at the base of the upper petals. These petals are white and veined, the lower, smaller petal pair oblique in shape, narrowing in their upper parts.

    The dark, somewhat globose anthers are held away from the flower base by the filaments that curve near their tips. The outcurving sepals are dark-centred, pale-margined and sharp-tipped. Three narrow, brown bracts spread where the flower pedicels join each other at the inflorescence base in the foreground (Curtis-Scott, et al, 2020; Manning, 2007; Manning and Goldblatt, 1996; iNaturalist; https://www.worldfloraonline.org).
