The plant shown here has the white flower form of Cheiridopsis denticulata. The flower stalk or peduncle is long, pink, sturdy and curving from the base to present the flower in an erect position. Different stages of flowering can be observed on the plant, from emerging buds to flowers died off with seed capsules forming and the peduncle still pink. Lower down on the side there is even a persistent dry capsule from the previous season, its stalk dry. Note the spiny leaf-tips.
